Size Does Not Matter, Experience Does: Public Relations, The Globalization Movement

2010 was a year when public relations for the most part maintained levels (minor fluctuations) in regards to budgets and client initiatives.

2010 was also a year that proved to be one of the most challenging largely in part to global economic, social, political, religious, ethnic and cultural paradigm tsunamis.

The image of public relations in these times is always a matter of concern.  It is during times such as these that there are many claiming to be professional practitioners when the reality is that they subscribe to none of the industry commonly held standards of practice.

“Possessing a computer, maintaining a website and calling yourself a public relations professional does not make it so.” –Greg Kelly, Partner K2 Global Communications LLC

Trends-2-Watch:

  • Global Governance and Standards.  Greater movement towards government relations as power, structure and agendas flow in a fluid state with globalization of governments and standards.
  • Global Corporations.   Corporations will increase public relations activities not only to effectively compete with rivals in the consumer, Biz-2-Biz markets but it will have to increase in ratio to the expediential growth of governments and control mechanisms.
  • Public Diplomacy.  In order to grow the government/corporate globalist agenda the power structures will be obligated to focus with laser intensity on public diplomacy to avoid mass demonstrations, the chaos associated with the inherent economic, social, cultural, religious upheavals.
  • Music.  Follow the piper…Music as a social force and means of mass communication and persuasion has evolved into the most potent force in public relations, marketing for global government and corporations specifically when operated in tandem with social media.

“So the world is spinning faster, are you dizzy when you’re stoned?

Let the music be your master, will you heed the master’s call Oh… satan and man.”

–Led Zeppelin, Houses of The Holy
