Sexual Abuse Victims Felt Powerless, Ashamed, Alone…Until Now: Healing in the Hurting Places
There is a crime that is almost too devastating to speak of. For years, the subject was taboo. Victims felt powerless, ashamed, alone. The crime: sexual abuse.
The statistics speak for themselves…
- 1 out of every 4 girls and 1 out of every 6 boys in the US have been sexually assaulted before the age of 18
- 90% of child sexual abuse victims know the perpetrator in some way; 68% are abused by family members.
- 88% of child sexual abuse is never reported to the authorities; of those that have been reported, one in every 7 victims of sexual assault is under the age of 6.
- The United States has the world’s highest rape rate of the countries that publish such statistics. It’s 4 times higher than Germany, 13 times higher than England, and 20 times higher than Japan.
- Every 45 seconds in the United States, someone is sexually assaulted.
- In 2002, approximately 15-33% of females and 13-16% of males were abused by the age of 18 in the United States.
- · Children who have been sexually abused are 2.5 times more likely to abuse alcohol
- · Children who have been sexually abused are 3.8 times more likely develop drug addictions
- · Eating disorders and suicide rates abound

Karen has been married to Bill for 30 years and they are the proud parents of three children: Lisa, Laura and Christopher. They reside in the rural town of New Egypt, New Jersey.
After 20 years in the corporate world, in seven different fields and having survived four layoffs, she started her own business. KFR Communications, LLC – a custom graphic and website design company she owns with her business partner, Andrew Gioulis – is now in its seventh year of operations.
For most of her life, Karen measured her success by what she achieved in her own strength. Then on July 24, 2005, that world and belief system was rocked when she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Augustine said, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”
Karen began to understand why God blessed her with the gift of writing and speaking and how she could glorify Him with it. She began writing as a means to deal with the pain of childhood sexual abuse. Today, she heads up a ministry called “Healing in the Hurting Places” to offer hope to those suffering in the same way. This book is part of that journey.
Pilate Asks What Is Truth? Social-Political Economy and Expediency
Mel Gibson’s epic The Passion continues to grow in relevance to the world we live in today, I dare to state even more than when it was released due to current Socio-Politico Economical developments.
What are we to make of the Pontius Pilate character and The Truth cast in today’s place in history.
Pontius Pilate: What is truth?
Pilate’s first query about The Truth came in his initial encounter with Jesus who in biblical reference is The Truth.
In this framework, Pilate did not recognize The Truth while it was right in front of him.
Sadly, this is true today in America. Americans are still in denial of the fundamental CHANGE of our Social-Political Economy and the global governance agenda.
Pontius Pilate: What is truth, Claudia? Do you hear it, recognize it when it is spoken?
Claudia Procles: Yes, I do. Don’t you?
Pontius Pilate: How? Can you tell me?
Claudia Procles: If you will not hear the truth, no one can tell you.
Pontius Pilate: Truth… do you want to know what my truth is, Claudia? I’ve been putting down rebellions in this rotten outpost for eleven years. If I don’t condemn this man I know “***Caiphas***” will start a rebellion. If I do condemn him, then his followers may. Either way, there will be bloodshed. “***Caeser***” has warned me, Claudia. Warned me twice. He swore that the next time the blood would be mine. That is my truth!
The Truth is black and white; there are no grey areas of The Truth.
The biggest enemy to The Truth in our nation, if not globally is political expediency.
Political Expediency remains today much as it did with Pilate when and where The Truth is questioned and transformed to meet ones situational requirements.

Government/Public Sector Unions have been responsible for the dramatic economy wrecking growth of government/public sector both in terms of numbers employed and in terms of budget busting demands.
