YouTube: MOST BEAUTIFUL

With her distinct soulful sound and deep love for music, New York born-and-raised fledgling singer/songwriter Caroline Purr proves that she is finally ready to come into her own. Since she was a child, Caroline was always surrounded by music. As a teenager, she always had her guitar in hand, playing songs and harmonizing with friends where ever and whenever possible. At the age of 16, she hit the stage along with her brother in their first cover band and hasn’t left since.

Music has always been an obvious driving force in her life, and it is apparent in everything she writes. As an adult, she brings her beliefs and passion to the forefront of each song with distinct charisma, conviction and true beauty. Throughout her career as a singer, usually as a front woman for numerous cover and original bands, Caroline always draws a crowd with her powerful voice, charm, and eccentric talent for knowing how to please an audience.

Ranging in vocal styles from Folk, Americana, Pop, Punk, Rock and Roll, and even Hardcore, Caroline’s voice has always been her strongest and most finely tuned instrument. As a solo artist she embeds warmth and a sincere message into every bit of her art.

Her songs unfold like stories, and touch on topical, emotional issues with complete, unfaltering grace. Caroline reaches out to her audience with powerful, thought-provoking and positive messages. Her heart, soul, and deep understanding of humanity are laid out on the table in each song, and her hopeful messages make her music turn into truth, and strength for everyone who is lucky enough to hear it.

July 9, 2012 New York, New York — Caroline Purr announced the release of her single Angry, available on ITunes, today.   Purr is a fixture of the music scene in New York City and can be found performing on any given night with the legends or the band Off The Chart.

I am Angry

Enough, it is time to change, I have declared to my soul with my song Angry.

It is good for me to be angry, tired of myself, angry at my repetitive mistakes.   No matter how great family and friends, nothing changed for me until I came to the reality of the power within me, my anger, to say enough is enough.

No longer will I share my life with heartache and pain, I kicked their asses to the curb.

I am…Angry

-Caroline Purr on the release for her single Angry.

DOGS OF WAR

Soldiers,

You have stood,

Tall, straight, proud.

A core,

 strengthened by rods,

Of belief, integrity, values.

Courage,

Fuelled by honour, compassion,

Integrity.

If you have fallen,

It is because you have stood.

Many hands will hold tight,

To the fabric that you wear,

It may stretch beneath the weight,

But the stitching will never break.

You will fall no further,

You will not be forgotten.

Soldiers  have comrades…DOGS OF WAR

Original Poem By Brigid Walshe

On behalf of Veterans everywhere, We wish to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for Brigid Walshe and Caroline Purr who collaborated and donated their treasure to make this Tribute to TRUE DOGS OF WAR, pictured above, possible.

This post dedicated to Sgt. Harry Shaw: Helping others put their life puzzles together through living...Caroline Purr

Lovely song! Sometimes life just gets in the way of our living…

You know Ernest Hemingway believed that, “The writer’s job is to tell the truth.” I believe that it is the songwriters duty as well.

True words are infused with a special power that connect our lives and provide meaning in the midst of life’s storms. Caroline’s new song, “Better Days,” does this. -Sgt Abn Harry Shaw 82nd Abn, Grenada and Beyond!

There is a group in America that when called upon accomplished superhuman feats, tread where angels feared to go.  You pass them by in your daily life unaware of where they have been, what they have witnessed or what they sacrificed for you…They Are America’s Greats.

New York City — Caroline Purr long ago earned the respect and admiration of America’s Greats with her Troop Song: ‘I WON’T BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS’ (LIVE) donated to the VETUNES ® AIRBORNE ROCKATORIUM and performed live on several occasions for our Veterans and their families.

What defines our character as Veterans is the bond formed through our military service and that bond follows us into civilian life. It is because of this special connection that we are sensitive to the reality that other veterans may not be as fortunate as we may find ourselves.

This special connection is found in full measure within Caroline Purr, her music with America’s Greats.  Purr understands that combat does not end when one leaves the battlefield. From Vietnam to the Iraq, Agent Orange to Depleted Uranium Munitions, our veterans and their families are facing some of the greatest battles of their lives.

America’s Greats Salute Caroline Purr…‘Better Days’

“I just came home from major shoulder surgery with so many stitches I look like a Spaulding Baseball.  Turned on my computer and there just when I needed it most was ‘Better Days’ by Caroline!  Know this…God sent me an angel and as far as I am concerned there is none more deserving of the coveted Honorary Airborne title than Caroline!” Sgt Abn Kerry Lynch 82nd Airborne/2nd ID Shot Over…Shot Out.

In Caroline’s own words…Better Days:

Caroline Purr’s Newly Released ‘Better Days’

“These are Better Days my friends, as long as we are still here. It is hard to pick ourselves up sometimes when Life’s ups and downs twist us in unexpected directions.

I wrote this song at a time in my life, where things were not too easy (they usually are not, but I am Thankful nonetheless).

Just when I really wanted to feel sorry for myself; I sat at the piano playing the few chords I know, while thinking of worse times in my life, like watching my beloved Brother in law Dennis Bosco die too young, of people I Love who struggle financially or with loneliness. I thought of our soldiers who sacrifice their lives for us, and leave their Loved ones crying at graves, and thought… What am I complaining about?

I am Thankful to be here, trying to do my best. I hope this song touches hearts and adds inspiration and hope to those it reaches. Keep Trying!” -Peace & Love, Caroline
